Rick was driving at highway speeds on a gravel road with uncontrolled intersections. Another driver was also driving at highway speeds down another gravel road and at one of the those uncontrolled intersections, with their vision blocked by fields of corn, these two vehicles collided. Rick, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time--since he thought the ride should only be a few minutes to his next stop--was ejected from the passenger side window when the airbag prevented him from going through the windshield. Even though he was thrown far from the truck he did not break any bones and only had some glass in his head. He didn't even show signs of a concussion at the hospital and was released today too.
We are thankful to have Rick with us. We are thankful for God's protection. We are thankful for the reminder that each day could be our last and to live each day fully.
