Mexico Missions Fundraising Dinner

Tonight was this big fundraiser for the youth mission team's Mexico trip this summer. We stayed after church for preparations and even had a chance to go home in between before returning to church for the big dinner. The gym looked great decorated in the colours of the Mexican flag:

Each table had a mini cactus with the names of each participant:

and whoever had a birthday closest to July 5 (their date of departure) could take the cactus home and pray for them.

The team was introduced:

The food was served:

and ice cream sundaes with a Mexican twist:

Conrad's Mom got Kezia's cactus because her birthday is August 22:

It will be exciting to see what God has planned for this team.

(Kaden wrestled with a decision to stay or leave early from tonight's dinner because his hockey team was playing for a spot in the championship series. In the end he decided to leave early but arrive just in time for the hockey game instead of an hour before. Kaden scored a nice goal and his team won 5-3 for a spot in the finals.)
