back on the ice

Kaden was invited to practice with the "big boys" today. My computer/tech guy at my school has a son a year older than Kaden and invited him to play with a few boys who were warming up for AA tryouts this weekend. This made Kaden feel pretty special. Considering he hasn't been on the ice much, he did well and even took a shot during the little scrimmage at the end.

Kaden starts a hitting camp tomorrow (hitting starts for him this year-boo) and then we'll find out when his first official tryouts begin.

Good luck at tryouts. Just wondering why tryouts are this late in the season. Ours were back in April and the season began a few weeks ago.

Really?! Our tryouts (at least for this age) are always in September and then teams are made and they usually start practicing with their teams by the end of October. There is a Spring hockey league (March-June) and I know Kaden's friend played a Summer league this year (once a week 4 on 4-no practices) but for us the tryout season is September. Interesting that yours is so early compared to ours. Was it even like that when your boys were younger??

My son began playing when he was in 4th grade and is now in 10th grade. Tryouts are in April for the winter season. You begin practicing in July and the season begins in September. It isn't over until March the following year. There is a spring league from April & May (4 on 4, no practices) and summer clinics.
